Assemblies

Description

Static class for scanning loaded assemblies and reading embedded resources.

Features

  • Whitelisted scanning: scans only your own assemblies — Microsoft, Newtonsoft, Serilog, NUnit and many others are excluded at startup, keeping scans fast
  • Smart embedded resource lookup: pass just a filename or relative path, matches case-insensitively as fallback. Resource names are cached after first lookup per assembly
  • Type scanning: find types by inheritance, interface implementation, or attribute decoration

Caveats

  • Type scanning is not cached internally — cache the result yourself if calling repeatedly
  • Files must have build action set to Embedded Resource to be readable
  • If multiple embedded files share the same filename, the first match wins
  • Embedded resource max size is int.MaxValue bytes
Tip

Cache type scanning results at startup — scanning on every request is expensive.
